Advocacy & Preservation
Advocacy is one of the North End Historical Society's core functions, alongside education and historical preservation. NEHS uses its voice and resources to protect what makes the North End special. We engage with city planning, development proposals, and policy decisions that affect our community.
The North End Historical Society advocates for responsible planning and development, elevating community voices through its own work and in support of its partners. If you think our voice could make a difference for your neighborhood, please feel free to reach out. We coordinate advocacy with community partners including neighborhood organizations and local businesses.
Our staff give testimony at City Council hearings and maintain ongoing communication with elected officials to ensure the needs of our community are understood and properly addressed. We also write letters in support of, and in opposition to, development projects, planning programs, and other issues facing the communities we serve. Most of these letters are part of the public record.
Have a development concern? Contact us and we'd like to hear about it.
