Anthony Riccio Gallery
As a boy, Anthony V. Riccio listened to his grandparents' stories of the small Italian villages they had left behind to come to America.
In the early 1970s he traveled to those villages with a camera, and several years later he turned his lens on Boston's North End, photographing the neighborhood and its people in a race against time: street life, religious festivals, storefronts, cellar winemaking sessions, and the residents who had made the journey from Italy decades before.
