Jeremy Bell returns to the NEHS to unveil his latest research on America’s most famous Freemason, Grand Master Paul Revere

Meeting at the legendary Green Dragon Tavern in the North End, Revere’s Lodge of St. Andrews served as a crucible for the Revolution.

Bell recounts the extraordinary story of the Lodge’s origins in 1730s London, utilizing dozens of rare period prints to connect the dots.

Central to this discovery is Copley’s iconic portrait of Revere which conceals several profound Masonic symbols including a Masonic Bible that is formed in the reflection of the white shirt on the polished table. Revere’s working tools create the formation of Square and Compasses that have been ‘hidden in plain sight’.

While Revere’s legend will be retold many times this year, this is your chance to hear a perspective that is entirely new.
